What is in it for me?

There are so many benefits to becoming an assembly member and so many opportunities to help shape and mold the role. Other benefits include.

  • Developing valuable skills and experience

  • Making new friends and connections

  • Being involved with key decision-making within the University and Students’ Union

  • Attending university committees

  • Holding our officers to account and ensure that they stick to their pledges

  • Increasing your employability

…And as if this isn’t enough there is also free SU branded merchandise.

What to expect.

When you start the role there will be a training session to equip you with the key skills for the role. There are full-time staff at the SU here to help and support you throughout your time, so you won’t feel unprepared or unqualified. During your tenure there will be 4 Assembly Meetings to attend which will include accountability reports from the officers, updates about the priority campaigns being worked on and occasionally attendance by key stakeholders within the university. We have also introduced subgroups of Assembly this year so you can get more involved with the campaigns which you are personally passionate about.

Sounds good right? Fill in the form below to sign up today. Applications are open from the Mnday 16 September - Friday 4 October.
