Rainbow Laces Campaign
City, University of London Students’ Union are pleased to announce that we are supporting Stonewall’s ‘Lace Up to Keep It Up’ Rainbow Laces campaign from 25th November to 11th December 2023.
As well as highlighting our continued support of LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport, fitness and physical activity we’ll be supporting the WolfPack as they lace up for Rainbow laces day on Wednesday 6th December 2023.
2023 sees the 10th anniversary of Rainbow Laces and we are proud that City, University of London have supported the campaign from the beginning. Although much has been achieved here at City, there is still a lot of work to be done to support the LGBTQ+ community, which is why we’ll be pledging to #KeepItUp for sports inclusion.
The Students’ Union are committed to an inclusive sports community and workplace and so pledge to:
Keep Up pushing to make sport and fitness for everyone
Keep Up raising awareness
Keep Up speaking to the City LGBTQ+ Community
Keep Up the discussion around we can support the LGBTQ+ community being their true selves whilst attending or participating in sporting events
Keep Up training and educating our staff and sports leaders to create inclusive sport environments for LGBTQ+ people
How can you get involved?
Come along to the Students’ Union on Wednesday 6th December to pick up a pair of Rainbow laces. Wear them to your lecture, wear them whilst supporting the wolfpack, wear them to the gym – Even better, wear them all year round.
Attend the BUCS games taking place at CitySport on Wednesday 6th December. The games taking place include:

Women’s Netball 1st v Queen Mary
Women’s Netball 2nd v UCFB
Men’s Table Tennis 2nd v Anglia Ruskin
Women’s Table tennis 1st v UCL
Volleyball v Middlesex
