Welcome to Anatomy Through Art Society

We are a student group passionate about using art as a tool for engaging with anatomical learning. Historically, the study of anatomy has been intrinsically linked to art, using drawing and observational skills to become familiar with the human body. We hope that

using artists, anatomy will be an alternative and accessible way of introducing basic anatomical concepts. We plan on having sessions with fine art lecturers and anatomy demonstrators to help facilitate student learning. We hope to deliver opportunities for students to appreciate the intersection of art and science, throughout the year we are planning:

• Monthly nude life drawing sessions

• Trips to the St George’s Pathology Museum

• Museum trips for observational drawing of anatomical specimens and models

• Lecture events from exciting guest speakers

Whether you are a complete beginner or have dabbled in life drawing before, we hope this can be a relaxed environment for you to decompress, meet like-minded people and express your creativity. Information regarding art materials will be provided on our Instagram page.
