The students' union has a number of exciting and vibrant spaces for you to use during your time at City St George's. You can find out more information about how to find, use and book these spaces below.

Staff Room Booking Form
Student Room Booking Form
The new common room is located on the same floor as the new Union offices on Level 2. It is a welcoming space designed to cater to the needs of students, societies and other student groups. Some of the features include:
Modern design
This space has comfortable seating, vibrant decor, and high ceilings that create an inviting atmosphere for all types of events and activities.
Flexible layout
The room can be easily reconfigured to accommodate various event set ups, whether for meetings, workshops, socials, even standup comedy!
Technology
Our space is equipped with AV equipment, including a large HD television screen and speakers great for presentations, quiz nights and film screenings. This technology is installed in the room and does not need to be pre-booked.
Booking
The space is bookable by students and staff, providing a dedicated area for hosting events and activities. Booking is straightforward and can be done through the Events Form for Societies, Room Bookings Form (staff) or our Reception team at the Students' Union Welcome Desk.
Accessibility
Located on Level 2 the space is easily accessible via stairs or lift.
Our Community Room is more than a physical space, it is a symbol of our commitment to creating a campus where every student feels safe and included. It is designed to foster inclusivity, support and community. Some of the features of this space:
Inclusive environment
Designed to be a space for individuals and groups, including LGBTQ+ and Trans students; this room is a place where everyone should feel safe, respected and valued.
Comfortable and private
The room has comfortable seating, soft lighting, soundproofing, making it an ideal spot for groups, relaxation or socialising.
Resource hub
Designed to evolve over time, the Community Space will have a variety of resources, including books, leaflets and information on support services for students seeking guidance and community connections.
Community events
Liberation student groups will hold events and meetings in the space which will provide opportunities for students to connect, share experiences, and support each other during their time at City St George’s.
The new podcast studio is located in the students' union on Level 2 Drsydale Building. The space has been designed to help you explore your creativity, share their stories, and produce high-quality audio content for City St George’s students and beyond. Some of the features of this space include:
Professional equipment
The studio features high-quality microphones, sound mixers, and recording software to ensure our students’ podcasts sound professional and polished.
Soundproofing
Designed with professional materials, the studio is fully soundproofed and provides a quiet and controlled environment, free from external noise.
User-friendly setup
Whether you are seasoned podcasters or absolute beginners, the studio set up makes it easy to start recording. Training sessions for students are bookable on request.
Flexible bookings
Bookable for individuals or groups from 8.00am – 9.00pm, students will be able to book this space through our Students' Union Welcome Desk or emailing studentsunion@city.ac.uk
Comfortable space
The studio offers comfortable seating, a relaxing atmosphere, and adjustable lighting to create the perfect recording environment.
Union Meeting Rooms The students' union has a number of meeting rooms which are bookable for students, clubs and societies. These rooms are ideal for committee meetings or online events. You can find out more information about the meeting rooms below:

Other spaces: There's a range of other spaces on campus which are open to students and can be booked through the students' union.
Large Group Room
Locared in the Student Support Hub Level 1 Drsydale, the Large Group Room is designed with students at the forefront. This relaxing and collaborative space is ideal for meet and greets, workshops, movie nights, events and much more. The room has a capacity of 30. This space is hybrid enabled. This space can be booked by students and staff (student facing activity only). Staff and students can book through the online booking form and socities can book through the events form.
Medium Group Room
Locared in the Student Support Hub Level 1 Drsydale, the MediumGroup Room is designed with students at the forefront. This relaxing and collaborative space is ideal for committee meetings, small events, hybrid events and much more. The room has a capacity of 30. This space is hybrid enabled. This space can be booked by students and staff (student facing activity only). Staff and students can book through the online booking form and socities can book through the events form.
CityBar
Despite the name, CityBar is not actually a bar but a relxing social space for students. The space is open for students Monday- Friday 10am- 4pm during term time. Societies and staff can book this space from 4pm- 9pm during term time. This space can be booked for the entire day outside of term time. Staff can make a booking through the online booking form. Societies can book this space through the societies events form.
