About
City St George’s University of London Fencing team compete in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) and train once a week at clerkenwell Citysport venue where those selected for teams benefit from reduced gym membership and access to a range of fitness facilities. Elite fencers ( City , Bayes , School of Law , St George’s & all UoL etc ) are also able to access free or subsidised membership of Battersea Foil club under our coach Prof. Mark Kent. Our President this year is GB fencer Thomas James.
However, in case you are not selected as a player for the team, you can still participate in social fencing throughout the academic year* Please see ‘ get active ‘ ( £2 pay and play ) Moreover, we also have off-court club events and team events, such as dinners and movie nights.

How to get involved
To represent City St George's in your chosen sport you must first sign up to and attend a taster session or open practice. You can do this in a number of ways:
Attend the Sport in The Square event on Monday 23rd September outside the Main entrance at Northampton Square, EC1V 0HB from 11:00-14:00
Come along to the Welcome Fair on Friday 27th September at The Business Design Centre Islington, N1 0QH from 10:00-17:00 and speak to the team captain.
Visit the Sports Fair on Saturday 28th September at CitySport, 122 Goswell Road, London, EC1V 7DP from 11:00-16:00.

Wednesday 25th September Experienced fencers of three years or more 15:00-17:00 ( beginners either 14:00-15:00 or 15:00-16:00 should register with president )

British Fencing membership will be required by all students competing. Students will require a?Starter or Recreational British Fencing Membership*.
*All students should have British fencing membership of at least Recreation or Starter category. Please note that those who do not have British Fencing Membership are not insured and fence at their own risk
