2022: a year of wins for students

It's been a winning year at City Students' Union, and as 2022 comes to an end, it's a perfect time to highlight some of our big Student Wins for City students.

We have Welcome’d 10,000 of you on board during Term 1

Our Welcome 2022 has never been bigger or better than this years with over 10,000 students attending our events like Games Nights, Boat Ball Party and our Freshers' Fairs. We welcomed over 10,000 City students into the City Community and debuted a new design on the trusty SU tote bags.

We’ve put Cost of Living support on the agenda

Our Assembly and City students came together for the first Assembly Meeting and created a ‘Cost of Living manifesto’. You told us your main worries and we listened.

The University and SU now bring cost-saving changes to City students like free sanitary products, £3 hot evening meals, 99p coffee and more!

Our ears are always to the ground in our Student Voice reports

We’ve taken your course feedback and have recommended to the University on what they can do better to make your academic experience better. Some big changes included reading weeks on your timetables, a one-stop events calendar being created and faster placement communications.

City students told us that the advice they receive in their times of need is excellent

If things ever go wrong and you’re ever in a panic, your SU have been there to give you advice from our Union Advice team to get through your studies. 92% of these students agreed that the advice they had received was clear and helped them understand what to do next.

We’re building better mental health support at City

We have been in the important conversations in building a mental health strategy to improve mental health and wellbeing outcomes for students. We will continue this work in the next year by supporting the University on its Mental Health Charter in making staff and student mental health a university-wide priority.
