Academic Impact: Our Lastest Wins

It has been a busy few months at City Students’ Union. To keep you up to date here’s the latest update showcasing our top 13 Academic Impacts and Wins that we have made within the Students’ Union team.

Micro Placements and Employability

  • In preparation for our Micro Placements this year, the Students' Union interviewed over 450 Students, applicants then finalised their application process by attending one of our 5 Assessment Centre Days.

  • We have successfully developed 21 exciting and creative placement opportunities for students. From Social Media Engagement, Finance, External Enterprise Outreach, and many more, we're offering a variety of opportunities for our MPP students.

  • We are in the process of securing training opportunities for students, covering competenicies such as Confidence, Commercial Awareness, Business Etiquette, and many others.

Advice Service

  • All members of Union Advice have now completed Disability Awareness training and Trans Awareness training, which has helped to broaden our knowledge in supporting a range of different students.

  • We have continued to provide feedback to Schools on policies relating to assessments, and on a few occasions have played an active role in clearing up misinterpretations of regulations from City staff for the benefit of large amounts of students.

Programme Reps

  • We have trained 500 of our Programme Reps across different programmes and Schools. In total we held over 20 training sessions in person and online so that Reps are ready to carry out their important role.

  • We have organised an end of term social for our Programme Reps and Society Leaders to celebrate the end of a busy term 1 and their achievements so far as Student Leaders. Book your spaces here.

Societies

  • We’ve trained over 20 societies to support the societies that you are a part of in being effective and engaging for their members.

  • We have recently had 15 new societies being established and approved, and a few more in the application process! If you want to get involved with a society, check out our website here.

  • We are working to bring back our good old Carrot Radio back in action. Watch this space for more student media content in our radio booth set up!

More wins!

  • Our work with City University of London on the #KeyToCity campaign won ‘Best Campaign Promoting International Study’ at this year’s Net Natives #ThinkStudentLive Awards!

  • We’ve had over 100 orders of City Merchandise on our Online Shop as part of our Black Friday deals!
