The Spring Elections 2021 are here and it is the perfect time to get an amazing graduate job, such as our full-time Sabbatical Officer roles; or apply to become a Part-Time officer and gain skills and experience while you study.

Can I put myself forward for these positions?

Yes, as long as you are a student at City, University of London Student (and, automatically, a member of the Students’ Union) you can.

Which position should I go for?

We have 3 full-time paid positions President of the Students’ Union, Vice-President Education and Vice-President Community and Wellbeing – if you are in your final year of studies and want to gain some work experience this is your opportunity!

Our full-time roles are paid over £23k per annum, and you’ll get the opportunity to network across the University and sector, lead on projects and develop your skills.

As President of the Students’ Union you would sit on University Council and Senate ensuring that student Voice is heard at the very top of the University. As Vice President Education you work closely with the University to ensure that all courses have student representation and issues are dealt with effectively. Finally, as Vice President Community and Wellbeing you lead on the work the Union does with the University and external community.

In the voluntary positions, you can run for Student Representative Officer (for The Business School, City Law School, School of Arts and Social Sciences, School of Health Sciences and School of Mathematics, Computer Sciences and Engineering). As we understand that UG and PG students go through a different experience during their studies, we have two Post Graduate Officer roles, a Post Graduate Research Officer and a Post Graduate Taught Officer.

Or if you are more passionate about liberation, we have liberation officer roles such as International Students’ Officer, Disabled Students’ Officer, Black and Minority Ethnic Officer, Women’s Officer and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) Officer. On the other hand, if you feel that your stronger skills rely on special interests, we have a Societies Officer, Student Media Officer, RAG Officer, Sports Officer and Ethics & Environmental Officer.

All these positions ensure that you as a student are represented at all levels.

Results will be thereafter on the evening of the 26th following completion of any outstanding appeals and disciplinary actions.
