January Welcome Week is almost here, and your Students’ Union is going all out to deliver the best possible events and experiences to settle you into university life. Whether you’re a new or returning student, now is a great time to get acquainted with your Students’ Union and make the most of some free goodies and activities!
CLERKENWELL
Welcome Breakfasts
Join us for two free breakfasts in welcome week on Monday 27 January and Thursday 30 January! Both events run from 10:00-12:30, but make sure you get there before it’s all gone!
Monday’s breakfast will take place in the Pavilion, University Building and Thursday’s will be held in the Law School Atrium.
GetActive
GetActive, the Students’ Union’s ultimate sports-for-fun experience, will be hosting all sessions for free during welcome week! Join us for the Term 2 GetActive Relaunch event in the Pavilion from 12:00-15:00 on Monday 27 January to find out more about our activities and have a go on our smoothie bike!
Societies Fair
Our Societies Fair is your chance to dive into everything we have to offer. You’ll get to explore a wide range of student groups, be it culture, activism or hobbies. With so many on offer you're bound to find something that interests you!
We’ll be in the pavilion from 11:00-15:00 on Tuesday 28 January.
Lunar New Year Celebration
Embark on a captivating journey at our first ever Lunar New Year event. Immerse yourself in this wonderful festival with colour, performances, food, society stalls, games, freebies and music. Join us for a day of joy, cultural richness, and the spirit of renewal as we celebrate the Lunar New Year with an authentic blend of tradition and festivity!
We’ll be in the pavilion from 11:00-15:00 on Wednesday 29 January.
TOOTING
Refresher’s Fair
Join us at our refreshers fair for an opportunity to join new and ongoing clubs and societies! With so much on offer, you’re sure to discover new communities to become a part of.
We’ll be in the Alastair Hunter and Henry Gray rooms on Monday 27 January from 12:30-16:30.
Quiz Night
We’ll finish off our welcome back day with a free-entry, laid-back quiz night. Team up with friends or make new connections!
We’ll be in the Students’ Union bar from 19:00 on Monday 27 January.
Karaoke
For the more party-inclined, we will be holding a free karaoke night! Come armed with your greatest hits and let loose in a great event, both for returning students finishing their exams and new students looking to make new friends!
We’ll be in the Student’s Union bar on Tuesday 28 January from 19:00.
Battle of the Bands
A free night of live music with bands from all City St George’s campuses and London School of Economics, encompassing a wide range of genres. The winner will take home a prize and earn a place on the ceremonious guitar trophy.
Please note that non-City St George's students can only attend as a +1 to performers.
