NUS Liberation Conference 2023

NUS Liberation Conference 2023

The NUS Liberation Conference took place this month at Blackpool. During the conference delegates had a chance to discuss topics such as Accessibility in Higher Education, International Student rights and Trans rights.

The delegates attending the Conference shared the following feedback:

“The conference was overall enlightening, and I enjoyed meeting new people and sharing ideas about student politics in the UK. There was a shared sense of camaraderie and solidarity among the international students in the conference”

“Since I represented trans students at the conference, I mostly attended sessions that focused on our issues and what can be done to support us in the future. I was able to participate in the conversation of trans rights in FE and HE, and offer my thoughts on a gender-affirming item fund, policies on how to approach and support trans students, and the issue of students records deadnaming and misgendering students, among many others.”

The Students’ Union will continue to empower the student voice at City so all students feel seen, heard and represented in all areas within the University.
