Nomination
To nominate yourself, please visit www.citystudents.co.uk/elections and complete the Nomination Form.
Forms are available from the 23rd September until 11.59pm on the 17th October 2019
Eligibility
All and only Student Members* may stand and vote in Union elections, subject to constituency based limitations.
Constituency based limitations include:
- School Representative Officer; only students belonging to a School may stand for election to or vote for the position. This includes the Graduate School.
- Liberation Officers; only students who self-define as the liberation group the position represents can stand for election to or vote for the position.
Candidates standing for election for a Sabbatical Officer position must be eligible to be a Trustee and Company Director in accordance with the relevant legislation.
Student Members who have already completed two terms of office as a Sabbatical Officer of the Union are not eligible to stand for election for a Sabbatical Officer.
It is an election candidate’s responsibility to ensure their eligibility to stand, including ensuring their course enrolment record is up to date, before submitting their nomination.
Student Members cannot stand for or hold more than one position at any one time except for the role of NUS National Conference Delegate.
*A Student Member is each and every Student who has not opted out by notifying City, University of London or the Union of their wish not to be a Student Member; the Sabbatical Officers.
Deadline for Nominations
Your nomination must be submitted no later than 11.59pm on Thursday 17th October 2019. Nominations submitted after this date and time will not be considered under any circumstances.
Candidates’ Briefing Meeting
All candidates are required to attend one meeting with the Deputy Returning Officer which will take place at the following times:
- Monday 21st October 2019 at 12-1.30pm in room AG01
- Tuesday 22nd October 2019 at 12-1.30pm in room C307
- Wednesday 23rd October 2019 at 12-1.30pm in room AG10
- Thursday 24th October 2019 at 12-1.30pm in room ELG09
- Friday 25th October 2019 at 12-1.30pm in room ELG09
Candidates who are unable to attend must contact the Deputy Returning Officer by email suelections@city.ac.uk, before the meeting.
