The Programme Rep Conference will include:

• Employability and skills sessions with high level skills development speakers to help you stand out in the job market including:
  • How to Become a Leader by Stephen Dowson

Stephen is a former President at University of Teesside Students’ Union and Founder of Stand & Be Counted, now training and developing aspiring people in leadership to be the change they want to see in the world.

• 'The Power of LinkedIn for Business’: How to make LinkedIn work for you by Jennifer Corcoran

Jennifer is an accredited LinkedIn trainer who is an expert on how to get an ‘All-Star’ LinkedIn profile to increase engagement and attract more leads.

• Turn your Rep experience into an amazing application by City Careers

City Careers offer extensive support to students in the beginning of their careers. They will be covering how to analyse a job specification, application and interview techniques and how to use the course rep experience as great examples.

• An exclusive opportunity for Programme Reps to join the University’s Deputy President, David Bolton, in updates on issues Reps have been working on and a round of questions.

• Do students deserve better than they’re getting?, a panel event discussing current challenges students are up against with:
  • Saqlain Riaz (President of City SU and former VP Education)

As a Trustee of the Students’ Union, Saqlain is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the Union in its vision and values, representing City’s student body.

• Hillary Gyebi-Ababio (Vice President of Higher Education at NUS)

Hilary’s passion in supporting marginalised students in education and beyond has encompassed a range of impressive widening access work that amplifies student voice.

• Jim Dickinson (Associate Editor of WonkHE)

Jim’s articles engage with key debates in Higher Education and is the associate editor at WonkHE who are driving the Higher Education policy conversation forward.

• How can the Union and University support you better? – Networking Event

Academic Societies Leaders and Programme Reps are collaborating in this networking and feedback event to discuss the mutual difficulties students have encountered this year, addressing ways in which these issues could be overcome and how to engage with students.
