Sports Access Fund

We know that the cost of living is tough right now, and your Students’ Union is here to help! Whether you're passionate about joining a sports club, getting competitive in campus leagues, or just want to stay fit with our GetActive classes, we've got your back. 💪

Introducing the Sports Access Fund! 🎉 This new initiative is all about making sure every student can stay active and enjoy the awesome sporting opportunities our uni has to offer—without stressing about the costs. Here’s the lowdown:

What Can the Fund Cover?

We want to make sure you have everything you need to stay in the game! You can apply for funding to cover:

  • Membership fees to any City St George’s registered Sports Club, Campus League team, or a sport-related society. (You’ll need to have secured your spot first.)
  • Entrance/registration fees to sporting events and competitions.
  • GetActive class fees—so you can keep working out and having fun!
  • Kit or equipment you need to participate in activities provided by a City St George’s Sports Club or sports-related society.

How Much Can I Get? 💸

You can apply for funding up to £100 per student to cover multiple items. The best part? You can apply more than once during the year, as long as the total doesn’t go over £100.

How Do I Apply?

Applying is super simple:

  1. Make sure you’re a current student (easy peasy).
  2. Complete a short Blackbullion Money Course on budgeting (takes no time and trust us, it’s useful!).
  3. Provide a brief explanation of why you need the funding—whether you’re facing financial hardship or any barriers to participating in your favourite activities.

Ready to Apply? Click HERE to start your application! 🚀

This is your chance to stay active, try new things, and have a blast without worrying about the cost. We’ve got your back, so don’t hesitate to take advantage of the Sports Access Fund!

Got any questions? Just reach out to us at the Students' Union (sports@city.ac.uk)—we're here to help! 😊
