Here's What your SU Officers have been getting up to lately!

Your SU President, Shaima Dallali:

  • The SU President has been working with the University to launch a catering research. This will enable students to shape the catering services at City including the variety of food provided (vegan, vegetarian, halal, kosher), the prices and the food outlets on campus.

 

Your VP Education, Ruqaiyah Javaid:

  • Has been recruiting our new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Representatives who will be completing research on decolonising the curriculum and the experience of underrepresented groups at City.

  • Working with Student and Academic Services to create a Student Education and Employability Board to cement student voice in the process of approving policies and strategic direction for education and employability. The positions for the board are to be advertised soon via Unitemps and students will be paid for their time.

 

Your VP Community & Wellbeing, Shahd Haj-Khalil:

  • Has organised two mental health awareness events including time to talk day and mental health day in which students took part in several activities.

  • Initiated a project with Sense charity to set up donation boxes on campus. This will enable students to donate to the charityand help to support children and adults with sensory needs.

 

SASS School Representative Officer, Tevo:

  • Hosted a community event on University Mental Health Day - Bob Ross Painting Event – attended by over 30 students.
