What’s on: National Student Money Week 2024!

Welcome to National Student Money Week 2024, an essential initiative led by the Students' Union Advice team at City, University of London! This year's theme revolves around understanding the Cost of Living and promoting Financial Wellbeing. 


We are thrilled to present a big range of events from 18th – 22nd March. Each event is aimed at empowering you with the knowledge and skills to manage your finances effectively. From budgeting strategies to fun activities, we have something for everyone.

Event Schedule:


Monday 18th March: Piggy Bank/Money Box Painting

Unleash your creativity at the Piggy Bank/Money Box Painting event on Monday, 18th March, from 1-3 pm in ELG01.

Join us for a fun and artistic session where you can paint and personalize your very own piggy bank money box. It's a delightful way to make saving money a creative and enjoyable experience.

Tuesday 19th March: Financial Wellbeing Fair
Explore a wealth of resources and services at the Financial Wellbeing Fair on Tuesday, 19th March, from 11 am to 3 pm at the Pavilion.

Connect with University support services, engage in finance related games and activities, and expect freebies. Take a step towards financial wellness!

Wednesday 20th March: The Great Student Money Debate
Engage in thought-provoking discussions at The Great Student Money Debate on Wednesday, 20th March, from 4:30 pm to 7 pm in BG02. 


Led by City Debating Society, you’ll gain diverse perspectives on student finances and  get to share your own experiences. The debate will be followed by refreshments and the chance to network.

Thursday 21st March: Sports Swap Shop
Join the sustainable fashion movement at the Sports Swap Shop on Thursday, 21st March, from 1-3 pm in ELG11.

Bring your gently used sports clothes and accessories to swap with fellow students. You can donate beforehand at the City SU Welcome Desk or reception at City Sport. It's a fun way to refresh your workout wardrobe without spending a penny!

Thursday 21st March: SU Cost of Living Breakfast
Start your day right at the SU Cost of Living Breakfast on Thursday, 21st March, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am in the Tait Building Multi-Faith room. 


Whilst indulging in tasty breakfast foods, this event will provide practical insights and strategies for managing your finances effectively.

Friday 22nd March: 1-1 Online Budgeting Drop-in Appointments
Get personalized budgeting advice at the 1-1 Online Budgeting Drop-in Appointments on Friday, 22nd March, from 2-4 pm.

Join us online via MS Teams for one-on-one sessions with experienced advisors who will address your specific financial concerns and help you create a tailored budget plan.
