So you're thinking about running in the SU Elections?

Here are some additional tips and training which might help you during the Election season.

Campaign strategy and planning

Having a good campaign is one of the most important parts of running in an election. You want students to recognise who you are and why they should vote for you. Develop a clear platform with specific goals and solutions. Make sure your message is easy to understand and resonates with your audience.

Public speaking and debate skills

You'll likely need to give speeches and participate in debates. Practice your speaking skills to communicate confidently and effectively. When you're speaking to students about why they should vote for you need to be able to sell yourself and get people engaged quickly here are some online training.

Social media and digital marketing

As a candidate you will come across many ways of advertising yourself and your ideas. A great thing to utilise is social media. Many students use social media all the time and that's where they engage with products, adverts and maybe you? Have you thought about setting up an Instagram page and or even a TikTok account?
